We absolutely loved being at AWP, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference! It was so special to connect with so many writers, publishers, organizations, and thought leaders, and other members of the literary community, all right here in Baltimore!
At our booth, we hosted book signings by previous Delaware and New Jersey individual artist fellows Michael Kardos, Nancy Reddy, Cortney Lamar Charleston, and Isabella DeSendi. We also celebrated books by our current and previous Mid Atlantic staff and board, including our board chair, Donna Walker-Kuhne.
We had a ball Friday night at CityLit Project's Hard Times Require Furious Dancing party too! It was an honor to support a night of celebration among AWP attendees and Baltimore locals. The featured artwork by Yemonja Smalls was a stunning highlight.
Overall, we were most excited to speak with so many people about supporting literary arts. We asked everybody we spoke to: What kind of support do writers most need right now? We extend a heartfelt thank you to everybody who spoke with us. We are looking forward to deepening our relationship with writers across our region and beyond.
