Mid Atlantic Tours Artist Roster Announced

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation's 2017-2018 Mid Atlantic Tours artist roster has been announced. This year's roster features seven artists/ensembles in the following categories:

Fee support is available to presenters in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and West Virginia to book roster artists for engagements taking place between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018. Jazz Touring Network Welcomes New Member

The Cornell Concert Series housed at Cornell University has been selected as the newest member of the Jazz Touring Network. The network is a presenter-based membership program designed to increase the presentation of jazz within the mid-Atlantic region, providing opportunities for professional development, subsidies for network-developed tours, and a platform for communication and collective action.  The Cornell Concert Series will be joining the network's other 23 members for their upcoming annual meeting taking place in New York on January 10-11, 2017. 2017-18 FAJE Tours Roster Announced

The French American Jazz Exchange 2017-18 Tours Roster has been announced. The 2017-18 FAJE Tours Roster includes:
  • Abu Sadiya with Yacine Boulares, Vincent Segal and Nasheet Waits
  • Anakronic/Krakauer with David Krakauer and Anakronic
  • Ancestral Memories with Yosvany Terry and Baptiste Trotignon
The French-American Jazz Exchange (FAJE) Tours are designed to raise the visibility of the French-American Jazz Exchange program in the United States by touring ensembles that have received a project grant through the program, providing American presenters with access to unique and powerful artistic collaborations and performances. Fee support is available to presenters based in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and West Virginia booking FAJE Tours roster artists for engagements taking place between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018. Funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested presenters should contact the tour artists' agents directly. Apply Now for MAAF's Indie Film Touring Program! 

Don't miss this opportunity to be considered for the 2017-2018 season of On Screen/In Person, which tours independent American filmmakers to communities across the mid-Atlantic region to screen their recent work and connect with local audiences. Filmmakers residing anywhere in the United States or its territories may now submit their films for consideration. 
Regional nonprofit venues and arts organizations may also participate in the program by serving as host sites for the touring filmmakers through a partnership with the Foundation. The application deadline for host sites is December 2, 2016. USArtists International, a nationwide program that provides grants to U.S. music, dance and theatre artists invited to perform at significant international festivals or performing arts markets abroad is currently accepting applications for projects taking place between March 15, 2017 and March 14, 2018. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2016. Before starting an application, please read the program guidelines to verify eligibility. Applicants for the Round I deadline on September 7, 2016 can expect notification on their applications by November 23, 2016.

New Program Officers Appointed

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation recently appointed two new Program Officers, Performing Arts; Haowen Wang and Jessica Porter.
Haowen Wang joins Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) after six years as Program Manager for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Haowen has also served as General Manager for Ping Chong and Company, as Program Associate for the Asian American Arts Alliance, and as Executive Director of the Yangtze Repertory Theatre of America. Haowen's portfolio of programs with MAAF include Mid Atlantic Tours, ArtsCONNECT and Special Presenter Initiatives. Haowen Wang can be contacted at
Jessica Porter has recently served as Project Manager with FirstPic, Inc. of Gambrills, MD and previously as Program Director for Young Audiences of Maryland.
