LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS TO SHOWCASE TRADITIONAL DANCES IN THE FIRST-EVER EXHIBITION OF ITS KIND

Students Will Showcase Newly Learned Skills in the
“Dances of Our Ancestors” Exhibition

WHAT: Students from the Mr. Rogers Elementary School in Smith, MD, will present a series of traditional folk dances that they have learned by investigating local family histories and traditions with acclaimed folklorist Jess Wilson.

WHY: The “Dances of Our Ancestors Exhibition” is part of the Smith Cultural Center’s three-month initiative to help local residents explore their traditions and histories and cultures. The project is supported by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation’s ArtsCONNECT program.
