Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Announces Grants
to Delaware, District of Columbia, and US Virgin Islands
Presenters through Special Presenter Initiatives Program
Baltimore, MD - August 5, 2009 - Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation has awarded nineteen grants to Delaware, District of Columbia, and US Virgin Islands arts presenters through the Special Presenter Initiatives program. The Foundation, in partnership with the Delaware Division of the Arts, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and Virgin Islands Arts Council offers this special initiative to help defray costs related to the presentation of touring performing artists in underserved communities. Proposed artists must be from the mid-Atlantic region (DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, USVI, VA, and WV), but outside of the respective jurisdiction in which the applying organization resides, or from outside of the United States. Presenters are encouraged to use this funding opportunity to expand their programming options through artistic choices that represent financial or aesthetic challenges.

The Special Presenter Initiatives program is made possible by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts Challenge America and Regional Touring Programs. Additional support was provided by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Delaware Division of the Arts, and the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts.
