Special Presenter Initiatives Guidelines Now Available
Program Supports Performing Arts Presentations in Delaware, the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands
Baltimore, MD - March 12, 2008 -Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation announces the release of guidelines for the 2008/2009 cycle of Special Presenter Initiatives, a program offering small and midsized presenting organizations in Delaware, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands an opportunity to apply for grants to broaden their programming and expand audiences.
Special Presenter Initiatives support organizations that meet each state's eligibility criteria. Presenting organizations are invited to apply for funding to help defray costs related to touring engagements in these three jurisdictions. Proposed artists must be from within the mid-Atlantic region (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, West Virginia), but outside of the respective jurisdiction in which the applying organization resides, or from outside of the United States. Grant awards differ for each jurisdiction but ranges from $500 - $5,000. Other eligibility and restrictions apply and are different for each program.
Guidelines for the Special Presenters Initiative program can be downloaded online here. The deadline for the applications is April 28, 2008 for Delaware, April 23, 2008 for the District of Columbia, and May 1, 2008 for the US Virgin Islands.
The Special Presenter Initiatives program is funded by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program, and is a partnership between the Foundation and the Delaware Division of the Arts, the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts.
Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation supports the richness and diversity of the region’s arts resources and promotes wider access to the art and artists of the region, nation and world. |
