Announce Eligibility for District of Columbia Artists
Baltimore, MD - Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation announced today that artists residing in the District of Columbia are now eligible for support through the Artists & Communities residency program. The opportunity for DC artists to participate was made possible through new funding from the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
Artists & Communities provides opportunities for professional artists who are residents of the District of Columbia, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania to partner with non-profit organizations in projects that result in the creation of new work and involve active cultural participation by members of the host community. Participating organizations must be located in the Foundation’s service area of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Guidelines for Artists & Communities are available online at www.midatlanticarts.org or by calling the Foundation at 410.539.6656 x100. The deadline for the program is December 4, 2006 for projects taking place between April 1, 2007 – March 31, 2008.
Artists & Communities is supported by funding Johnson & Johnson, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The Heinz Endowments, The William Penn Foundation, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, JP Morgan Chase, the Dc Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation.
