2009 - 2010 American Masterpieces
 The Holmes Brothers
The Foundation's 2009-10 American Masterpieces Cultural Currents tour highlights music ensembles whose work reflects the cultural traditions and artistic expressions of immigrant communities that have made the mid-Atlantic region their home over the last several centuries.  The Foundation will support a total of 56 engagements across the region featuring the all-female Celtic music ensemble Cherish the Ladies; blues and gospel legends, The Holmes Brothers; klezmer revivalists, The Klezmatics; the multi-artist Music from the Crooked Road Tour: Mountain Music of Virginia; jazz great Paquito D'Rivera and the Funk Tango Quintet; and the jazz and classical Indian hybrid of TIRTHA.  For a list of venues and dates, click here.

PennPAT Showcases at PAE
Join us for finger-snapping, hand-clapping, foot-stomping fun folk music featuring roster artists The NewLanders, Simple Gifts, and The Barnstormers!  PennPAT will produce an evening of independent showcases on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Performing Arts Exchange in Norfolk, VA.  Join us for drinks, dinner and dessert!  Visit PennPAT at Booth 410. 2009 - 2010 Mid Atlantic Tours Engagements Announced
 
Le Vent du NordThe Foundation will support 36 engagements of five extraordinary performing arts companies across the region through its Mid Atlantic Tours program during the 2009-2010 season. Featured artists include the groundbreaking dance company, STREB; the French-Canadian folk ensemble Le Vent du Nord; acclaimed jazz violinist Regina Carter with her quintet; the multi-disciplinary theater troupe Universes; and world-renowned Malian guitarist Habib Koité with his band Bamada. Mid Atlantic Tours is designed to increase audience access to the arts and promote the richness and diversity of the area's resources by supporting tours of regional and international performing artists. FidgetPennPAT announces 2010 Artist Roster
Following a rigorous panel review, 111 artists have been selected for inclusion in the 2010 PennPAT Artist Roster, making them eligible for fee-support as well as other grants and opportunities. Presenters may apply for touring fee-support for engagements with these artists beginning with the February 16, 2010 application deadline.  For the list of eligible artists, click here.  
  
PennPAT Artist Showcases
Congratulations to PennPAT roster artists Attack Theater, Daphne Alderson and Eleone Dance Theater who were selected to showcase at the Ohio Arts Presenters Network Showcase Conference, October 25-27, 2009, in Sandusky, OH.  For more information, click here.

2009 Summer PennPAT Grants for Touring Engagements
Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation announced PennPAT grants totaling $40,919 for 27 engagements with 19 different roster artists.  Read the full press release here

PennPAT Fee-Support and New Directions Grants Deadlines
October 15, 2009: For projects scheduled between February 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011. Application form is currently available online.  Only 2009 roster artists are eligible for fee-support at this deadline.

February 16, 2010: For projects scheduled between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2012.  Only 2010 roster artists are eligible for fee-support at this deadline. The application form will be available online in early December.

Limited Tickets Available for BNY Mellon Jazz 2009 Living Legacy Award
A limited number of tickets are still available for the BNY Mellon Jazz 2009 Living Legacy Award on Friday, October 2 at the Kennedy Center.  For $60, you get tickets to the 7:30pm Kenny Barron show in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater and the BNY Mellon Jazz 2009 Living Legacy Award ceremony and dessert reception in the Kennedy Center Jazz Club immediately following the concert.  It's a great evening of jazz and always a hot ticket!
