New Jersey Individual Artist Fellowships Deadline Approaching!
Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation is administering on behalf of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts their individual artist fellowships program for 2012. Artistic categories eligible for consideration include crafts, photography, playwriting, poetry, and sculpture. Applying artists must be residents of New Jersey. To view the New Jersey guidelines or access the online application, please click here. The application deadline for the 2012 New Jersey fellowships is July 15, 2011.
The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is offering technical assistance workshops to explain the application process and review important information about the online application. The final workshop is scheduled for:

Phil Woods Named BNY Mellon Jazz 2011 Living Legacy Award Recipient Alto saxophonist Phil Woods has been named the winner of the BNY Mellon Jazz 2011 Living Legacy Award. A renowned bandleader, composer-arranger and soloist, Woods has also been the recipient of four Grammys and the NEA Jazz Master Award. Woods will be honored in a special ceremony at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC on Friday, October 14, 2011. The celebration will include a reception, the award ceremony, and a performance by 2010 Legacy Awardee Roy Haynes in the Terrace Theatre. Conferred by the Foundation since 1994, the award annually honors living jazz masters residing in the mid-Atlantic region who have achieved distinction in jazz performance and education. Maryland Individual Artist Award Workshops Reminder
The Maryland State Arts Council and Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation will offer workshops and webinars to prospective applicants on the online application system being used for the 2012 Individual Artist Award program. Training will include how visual artists should submit digital images with their applications. The workshops will be offered for Maryland residents on the following dates and locations:
