 USArtists International Deadline Fast Approaching

The first of three application deadlines for USArtists International 2012 is
Tuesday, September 6, 2011 for engagements taking place between November 1, 2011 and October 31, 2012. The program provides support to American dance, music and theater ensembles and solo performers that have been invited to perform at significant international festivals and engagements that represent extraordinary career opportunities anywhere in the world outside of the United States. Mid Atlantic Tours Schedule Announced

The Foundation will support tours by chamber ensemble Imani Winds, the Keigwin+Company dance group, blues singer Bettye LaVette, and the Aquila Theater through its Mid Atlantic Tours program during the 2011-2012 season. The program will support 39 engagements in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. On Screen/In Person Films Announced

On Screen/In Person has announced the 12 films selected for its inaugural season. For film synopses, please click here. The program will support two tours screening new, independent American films, accompanied by their filmmakers, in 14 communities across the mid-Atlantic region during fall 2011 and spring 2012. Tour A: What's "Organic" About Organic directed by Shelly Rogers; Beatboxing: The Fifth Element of Hip-Hop produced by Angela Viscido; Out in the Silence directed by Dean Hamer and Joe Wilson; Concrete, Steel and Paint directed by Cindy Burstein and Tony Heriza; Proceed and Be Bold! directed by Laura Zinger; and Milking the Rhino directed by David E. Simpson.

Tour B: Trust: Second Acts in Young Lives directed by Nancy Kelly; Little Town of Bethlehem directed by Jim Hanon; In Good Time, The Piano Jazz of Marian McPartland directed by Huey; Money Matters directed by Ryan Richmond; Fambul Tok directed by Sara Terry; and BLAST! directed by Paul Devlin.

 

 Impending Deadlines for Artist Residencies

The Foundation provides support for individual artist residencies at the Millay Colony for the Arts and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts through its Creative Fellowships program. Residencies provide artists with a private studio, room and board, and the company of other artists from around the nation for an intensive period of self-guided creative exploration and development. The next application deadline for both sites is September 15, 2011.

 

Creative Fellowships at the Millay Colony support one-month residencies for composers, literary and visual artists from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.  For more information and application instructions, please visit http://www.millaycolony.org. Creative Fellowships at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts support two-week or one-month residencies for composers, literary and visual artists from Delaware, Maryland, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia. For more information and application instructions, please visit http://www.vcca.com/. A modest travel subsidy is awarded to the artists selected for residencies at either organization. 

 

PennPAT Grants 


Artist Grants
Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour announced that it awarded 52 grants totaling $100,485 to performing artists on the PennPAT Artist Roster during fiscal year 2011 (July 2010-June 2011). Thirty-eight (38) grants were for Technical Assistance projects and 14 grants supported artist travel to conferences. Read the press release for details.

Presenter Grants

The next presenter grant deadline is October 17, 2011, for projects scheduled between February 1, 2012 and May 31, 2014. Visit our website for application guidelines.
