Mid Atlantic Tours
Mid Atlantic Tours increase audience access to the arts by supporting tours of performing artists based in the region and from abroad. The Foundation offers support to presenters from the nine states and jurisdictions it serves (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia) who book artists on the annual Mid Atlantic Tours roster. Priority is given to engagements taking place in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia. A new roster of artists is supported each year. Presenters are eligible to receive support toward artist fees for their engagements.

For more than 30 years DanceBrazil has been thrilling audiences across the United States and around the world with its dazzling artistry, impressive technique, and propulsive choreography, all inspired by the diverse and multi-layered cultural tapestry of Brazil. Whether in the streets or on stage in the most prestigious theaters around the world, the dancers and musicians of DanceBrazil continually enthrall audiences with the company’s unique fusion of Afro-Brazilian movement, contemporary dance and Capoeira, the traditional dance/martial arts form that had its origins in Africa and evolved in colonial Brazil as a means of fighting enslavement. The company will offer new and existing repertory works in 2012-2013 and is available for touring February and March 2013.
