Presenting, Touring and Exhibiting
Presenting, Touring and Exhibiting programs provide rich cultural opportunities for audiences by sharing the creative and performing talents of artists.
Programs include:
- American Masterpieces: provides support to performing arts presenters throughout the region that engage pre-selected companies for performances in their communities. Companies are selected to represent the best of American cultural heritage and legacy. This program celebrates the rich and extraordinary evolution of the arts in the U.S.
- ArtsCONNECT: provides support for projects in which at least three performing arts presenters work collaboratively to present a single artist or touring company. Through this program the Foundation supports 12-18 tours of performing arts groups per season that reach 50-75 communities in the mid Atlantic region. The tours include performances as well as complementary activities designed to build greater understanding of and appreciation for the work of the touring company and/or its artform.
- Jazz Touring Network: is a multi-year program designed to expand the presentation of jazz throughout the mid-Atlantic region by providing selected presenters with the tools necessary to develop and sustain the art form as an ongoing part of their annual programming. The program consists of three components: knowledge building and information exchange, infrastructure development, and funding for regional jazz touring.
- The Mid Atlantic Folk Arts Outreach Program is an initiative designed to strengthen the region’s folk and traditional arts infrastructure, and to make a long-term artistic contribution through an exchange of practice and ideas, by traveling folklorists and traditional artists from home locations to host sites in other states or jurisdictions within the mid-Atlantic region.
- Mid Atlantic Tours: is a program through which the Foundation selects performing arts groups to tour to multiple venues in the region. These tours are targeted for special purposes such as focusing on specific art forms, supporting international cultural exchange, reaching presenters and communities that are underserved by MAAF programs, or other purposes. Each year the Foundation supports 5-10 touring companies through this program that reach as many as 50 mid-Atlantic communities.
- Pennsylvania
Performing Arts on Tour: provides support to mid-Atlantic, North Carolina, and Ohio organizations that are presenting pre-qualified Pennsylvania performing artists. The program also provides strategic opportunity grants to roster artists for engagements outside of the United States. The program is artist focused and provides marketing support, training and technical assistance related to improving touring capability for pre-qualified Pennsylvania artists.
- Special Presenter Initiatives: are offered for performing arts presenters in Delaware, District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands. These initiatives support the presentation of performing artists from within the region and abroad in communities and to audiences that are underserved by the arts. The grants program is targeted to small presenting organizations.
- USArtists International provides support for U.S. dance and music ensembles to travel to major international arts festivals in eligible countries of Europe, Russia and Ukraine.
