Discipline Specific

This program is currently on hiatus. It is our intention to resume the Discipline Specific Creative Fellowships program in near future.

The Special Discipline Focus of the Creative Fellowships Program is employed in those disciplines where artists benefit from significant technical assistance in the form of special equipment and facilities, experienced technical experts (such as master printers, technology experts, kiln masters, etc.), and a team of helpers to assist in the production process of new work and to explore new ideas.

Each year a different discipline, or group of disciplines, is chosen as the focus. Nine host facilities are invited by the Foundation to participate (there is no application process for host organizations) and the selected artists are supported in residencies at the partner organizations.

Bringing the new work to the public:
As an adjunct to the residency portion of the program, MAAF will create opportunities to bring to the public the work that is created by the artists participating in this program.
