When are your deadlines?
Our deadlines vary by program. You should check the Deadlines section under Funding Programs for the most up-to-date information. Grant applications for each program also contain deadlines and project period information.

I am running late with my application. Can I send it in late?
Most programs have a deadline date that is in-house – which means your materials must be received by the Foundation by 5pm on the deadline date. Sometimes, Foundation staff will allow for a late application – or portion thereof – due to extenuating circumstances. Please call the Foundation staff member responsible for the program to which you are applying for further information.

When will I find out whether or not I received a grant?
Again, that answer varies by program. For example, information on State Fellowship grantees is released by the state at a time which they determine – you should check their websites for further information. MAAF programs generally list a tentative notification date in each program’s application materials.

Do you give money to individual artists?
Some of our programs, such as Creative Fellowships, do provide money for individual artist residencies. The money is paid to the organizations who then provide the artist stipend. Other programs, such as the State Fellowships, provide direct grant to artists. Please visit the Funding Programs section of the website for further information on Artists’ Programs.

How do I get on the Artist or Host Site Directory?
You can download the Artist and Host Site Directory Forms directly from the website. Go to Artists’ Programs, Artists & Communities, and select Community Artist and Host Site Forms. The forms are also available in hard format in the Artists & Communities guidelines booklet.
